Some of the best things in life are simple - and this gimmick, which I first used in the early 1980s, is very simple to use.
Add it to your regular deck and you will be able to handle the cards exactly as normal. Shuffles, cuts, all can be done with the DECK-AID gimmick in place. Then, at a moment's notice, the gimmick can help you to control a selected card, or more unusually, even SEVERAL cards, with the greatest of ease.
You can have a card freely selected, placed back into the deck anywhere, and the deck can be placed down. Yet when you pick it up again, you will instantly be able to locate the chosen card!
And it doesn't only help you to find cards which have been removed from the deck. A spectator can simply peek at a card and you will be able to locate it without having to resort to finger breaks, or crimps or any difficult sleights or handling.
A spectator can cut off a small pile of cards, secretly count them before placing them back into the deck which is shuffled. You can then push a block of cards out of the deck's centre, and the number of cards will match the spectator's number exactly!
DECK-AID is unique in that it can take the place of short cards, thick cards, and just about any other locator gimmick, PLUS it can be used to control single cards or a small number of cards while the deck is being shuffled!
