PRODUCT REVIEWS
WILD DICEClick on the product title to link to a full description “The
dice are ordinary. There are no magnets. There is no sleight of hand. There is a
very clever gimmick. It will take you two minutes to learn how to handle the
matchboxes, at least two solid hours to get the routine down, and probably two
days to feel completely comfortable with it. You will then have a solid piece of
magic. This is one very clever piece of close up hocus pocus!” Larry White,
The Magic Manuscript "I saw your DVD of "Wild Dice" and knew immediately that I had to have it. When I saw the explosive reaction of the crowd at the double whammy ending, it was clear that "Wild Dice" had part of my repertoire. So I purchased it from your online store and started practising it. Incidentally, the product was well packaged, so there is no need to worry about the condition during shipment. I must say that having the DVD made the routine easier to learn, for I knew what to expect. I would repeat view certain stages on the DVD to make sure my performance was correct. I studied and practised the handling dozens of times to make it go smoothly (I'm sure I have spent a good 10-20 hours at least). But I know the routine completely now, and it runs nicely and gets that wonderful highly-satisfying explosive reaction from the crowd at the end. I recommend practising Stage 7 (lines 34 &35) several times by itself. During practice, I bungled it often either because I slid the boxes too far or else not quite enough. The "one centimeter" rule (line 34) really is best, as the instructions point out. It became clear to me that, due to the dozens of times I have practised this routine, the matchboxes were beginning to loosen up a bit, so I went to your online store and purchased another complete set of "Wild Dice" for performances only. The tightness of the second group of matchboxes was much appreciated, and while some of you might think it ridiculous to purchase another copy of "Wild Dice," my only response is, do whatever works best for you. After line 41 there is a NOTE. I highly recommend that you follow that note, for I did have a spectator who noticed the different number of spots on the die when it would reappear, and he pointed it out to me. Yikes! I must say that he is the type of spectator magicians don't like. That type of spectator is always looking for the solution and missing the entertainment and the fun and the amazement of magic. So heed the NOTE. The illustrations are very good, and they are numbered which made all the difference in the world. And the text which applies to the numbered figures is physically located on the page opposite the figure itself. This manual was well-prepared, and it is obvious that a lot of thought went into its creation. A comment on the DVD explanation - - - Mr. Leveridge speaks very clearly with great thoroughness and sincerity, and his explanations and reasons for what he is doing are very articulate. By the way, I do mostly card tricks, but "Wild Dice" is now my grand finale. Thanks so much for creating such a fun piece of work, and thanks for the excellent DVD which was very professionally done with excellent lighting and high quality audio and perfect camera angles plus glimpses of the terrific audience at just the right time."
