A Wrinkle On - The Complete Magic Party

MR. ROSE'S BALLOONS from THE COMPLETE MAGIC PARTY

KEITH DOWNS

Keith makes quite a feature of this routine by incorporating some quick balloon modelling in it. In his own words, this is how he describes his idea:-

"When I present this I become Mr.Rose and wear a tattered top hat. To this hat are attached two 315 modelling balloons. Into the bag are placed four 245 balloons and one 340 balloon.

The routine is now presented as published. Each balloon chosen is inflated but not twisted yet. The difference in size, when inflated, between the 245s and the 340 is considerable. The first three children are relieved of their fancy dress props and their balloons twisted into models.

The birthday child’s 340 balloon is twisted into a large sausage dog, its legs being made from the two 315s off the hat."

This sounds great and probably extends the routine now to half an act!! If you have not tried MR. ROSE'S BALLOONS yet you must - it is great fun!

DICEY FORFEITS from THE COMPLETE MAGIC PARTY

DAVID CORRIE

David supplies here two alternative forfeits for DICEY FORFEITS which he says cause mayhem when they come up!

The first is 'KISS THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU', the other is 'KISS THE PERSON OPPOSITE YOU'. The screams of joy from the other children as they watch with glee makes the whole GAME worthwhile, David says.

If you use DICEY FORFEITS and want some new or different forfeits, Keith would like to draw your attention to a card game called WHATEVER NEXT! which is available in toy shops. This consists of 100 good quality cards of playing card size which have two forfeit-type activities on each card. He has selected 60 of the best ones, stuck them back to back and laminated them and he says they make ideal forfeits for DICEY FORFEITS.

KEITH KAY

Keith has added a colourful element to DICEY FORFEITS by buying from Toys R Us a number of brightly coloured plastic eggs inside which he has put slips of paper with the forfeits written on them. (KinderEggs would also work, presumably) These eggs are available in the lead up to Easter and lare sold in bags of about 2 dozen for between two and three pounds. By putting the forfeits inside the eggs and dropping these into a transparent bag, the eggs can be mixed up and the child chosen by the throw of the large die can pick his own egg and thus select his own forfeit.

Some of the eggs can also contain the object needed for the forfeit, for instance the balloon for the bursting the balloon forfeit or the coin for the heads and tails one. Keith says this way of doing DICEY FORFEITS has been a great success for him and knowing what a busy children’s entertainer he is, I believe him!
