A Wrinkle On - 1-2-3 Jumbo Cards Across

C. WILTSHIRE

Mr.Wiltshire wanted to do 1-2-3 JUMBO CARDS ACROSS using apparently six different cards instead of six duplicates. What follows is the method and set up required in order to achieve this end.

You require nine cards which are set up in the following FACE UP pile:- AD*, 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, AD, 2D and 3D*. The two cards followed by the * are the fake ones.

At the start of the effect, after the two envelopes have been examined, you bring out the face up pile of cards. You start to count the cards off the top of the pile one at a time, placing each card under the pile. After SIX cards have been counted an AD will show again and the spectators will assume this was the first AD they saw.

The pile of cards is then slipped into an envelope as per the original instructions to show the reason for the hole in the front of the envelope, and the necessary three secretly left behind. On removing the other six cards and turning them face up you fan them and then hand the BOTTOM three cards (the 4D, 5D and 6D) to the spectator to hold.

Square the AD, 2D and 3D and turning them face down slip them into the really empty envelope. The three cards held by the spectator go into the other envelope thus leaving the A - 6D in sequence loaded for the finish. The presentation is then the same through to the end.

Incidentally, Mr.Wiltshire suggests using the Diamonds suit as the Diamond looks the same whichever way up you view it. So if some cards get twisted round during the handling, it will not show..
