A spectator writes any number from 1-52 on the back of a business card which is slipped sight unseen into an envelope and left in view. The performer writes a prediction of a playing card on the back of a second business card and this is put into the envelope as well. Removing a deck of cards, the performer shuffles it and then asks for the spectator’s freely chosen number. Let’s say it is 19. He deals down to the 19th card which is clearly positioned face down to one side. Slipping the two business cards from the envelope, the spectator’s number is confirmed and the card name prediction on the other business card turns out to be the 19th card in the shuffled deck! This uses the superb Utility Switch Envelope in a subtle and fooling way.
