Stay At Home Coins

Master Routine No.3 features one of my favourite coin box routines. I have in fact got several different routines (see master Routine No.10 for instance), and this particular one is designed as a presentation piece if you are performing a set show on a close up mat. The original inspiration for this effect comes from a similar plot which I read in Steven Hamilton’s lecture notes, although my approach to the method is entirely different and my routine has the added impact of the vanish of all the coins at the end.

One interesting facet of this routine is the way that it uses the Boston Box in a slightly different way from normal. Usually the recess base of the box is simply used as a place to fix a coin to create the illusion of a box full of coins, but in my routine I start by using the recess to hide a coin at various moments in order to eliminate the need to palm. Then later on in the routine, the box becomes converted into the more standard one in order to perform the vanish of the four coins.

There is some sleight of hand required with this, there’s no getting away from that and you will need to be able to palm coins and do convincing coin vanishes. But as usual I have not included anything superfluous, and I hope that you will enjoy and appreciate the way that the moves have been structured in order to make the routine as magical as possible.

This great routine is available either as a TricKlip Video Download if you learn best from video, or if you prefer written directions, then please select the Master E-Routine Download order button which will deliver the instructions via a pdf text file.

Please note: You will need to have a Boston Coin Box to perform this routine.
